It’s very easy to continue ploughing the same musical furrow so to speak, but we can’t do that.
Suzy and I are certainly having fun but it does stretch us - with all the pain that goes with it - musically, technically and from a lyrical perspective, which is good.
Our supporters also need something new to get their heads around. I remember buying Radiohead’s The Bends, OK Computer and then Kid A - each album moving forward. I explored this, as a precursor to the new album here: https://vibes.starlite-campbell.com/p/damn-the-torpedoes
We hope you enjoy the next shows and together we will continue to ‘Squid it up’ so to speak 🤣
That 'don't look back' ethos has been engrained into me since The Jam split when I was 13 (Weller being the one who inspired me to pick up a guitar, switch from Double Bass), and since then I've always ranked writers by their ability/desire to push forward with each album, from Dylan on (the only 'run of albums' we had in our house, my dad being a fan).
Have a splendid tour, and I hope to make the Greystones show.
Enjoyed that tremendously.... liking the new directions. Sounds as though you're having a lot of fun. Been hammering 'O Monolith' too. ;)
Thanks Tel!! Good to hear from you and that you’re enjoying the show and Starlite. One! x 🦑
Thanks Tel.
