This is the problem. If you look back at the section' We Need Crew' and 'Squidgy Stuff' you get the picture.

We can (and will) develop a monitor system where we can balance all the elements ourselves but the sequencing and playback need to be in the hands of someone else. It will involve us miking everything on stage into transformer balanced splitter boxes (4x8) with one set going to a 32 channel mixer with iPad control for the monitor mixes - the other set goes to FOH. Most bands run this type of system now.

The big problem is that I really dislike iem's and it's going to take me a while to get used to it. It will be easier for Suzy and Hugo, but with loud electric guitars, very tricky. I like to wander about the stage and get the balance I want at that part of the gig. If we have a FOH engineer as well that will be three crew and a big budget. I know in the Smile Jonny Greenwood (see latest podcast) doesn't use iem's but Thom and Tom do.

This tour was a big lesson for us.
